New price list. Clear next move.

A supplier changes a case price from thirty-six dollars to thirty-nine. Before updating Shopify, check which product it describes, how many items are in the case, and which store fields should change. This guide is from unkrypt, the developer of Amend. The examples are fictional, and the app images are edited captures from a development store where installation is already complete.

A case price is not a unit cost.

A case of six glasses at thirty-six dollars has a reference cost of six dollars per glass. At thirty-nine dollars per case, that becomes six dollars and fifty cents. The order multiple is a separate number. Being required to order twelve glasses does not put twelve glasses inside this case. Supplier availability also says nothing about the stock your store owns.

For a small update, start manually.

For a small selection, Shopify's bulk editor may be enough. Choose the intended variants, add the cost and price columns, enter the checked values, and inspect the saved result. For a CSV update, start with a fresh Shopify export and follow the current requirements for product identifiers and variant options. A supplier spreadsheet is not automatically a valid Shopify import.

Confirm what the supplier means.

When the job repeats, keep a setup you can reuse. In Amend, confirm the document purpose, currency, tax basis and price unit. A wholesale case price, a recommended retail price and a received shipment cost are different facts. Keep uncertain values on hold instead of filling in the meaning by guesswork.

Match the exact store variant.

Next, match the supplier item code to the variant you actually sell. Preserve leading zeros, check the packaging, and review duplicate or ambiguous identifiers. The supplier's product title does not need to replace your own. Confirmed product matches can be reused when the next edition arrives.

Review the table beside its source.

Importing a document does not approve its changes. Check the extracted table against the original and correct unclear cells or missing rows. The workspace also supports column repairs and spreadsheet paste. External OCR is optional. Before sending a price list, confirm that every page is free of personal data and that you have the required permission. Manual recovery remains available.

The next edition gets a fresh review.

The revised fictional list changes both products to six dollars and fifty cents per unit. The saved supplier rules and product matches carry forward, while the new differences await their own review. Confirm the edition date. The download date is not a substitute for the supplier's issue or effective date.

Review the margin. Decide separately.

At a fourteen-dollar selling price, a six-dollar cost gives a simple product margin of about fifty-seven point one percent. A six-fifty cost lowers it to about fifty-three point six percent. This calculation excludes shipping, payment fees, tax effects and other expenses. It is not net business profit. A new cost is a reason to review the selling price. In Amend, selling-price proposals require separate configuration and approval.

Check the result, not just the approval.

After approval, inspect the update history and the verified store values. Changes are checked before writing and read back afterward. Conflicts need review rather than a blind retry. This demonstration updates reference costs while protecting existing product identifiers and inventory quantities. Amend does not replace a full purchasing or inventory accounting system.

Make the next revision easier.

If supplier revisions are a recurring task, compare this workflow with the work your own store needs. Plans start at twenty-nine U.S. dollars per thirty days, before applicable taxes. The thirty-day trial includes ten documents, ten thousand rows and twenty OCR pages in total. Shopify shows eligibility and future billing terms before approval. The interface is English, and initial availability excludes EEA and U.K. businesses. Find the written guides, full walkthrough, current availability and processing limits on the Amend product page.
